Bonn wird Sitz des UN-Wissenschaftsrats zur biologischen Vielfalt

Auf der 2. IPBES-Plenumssitzung vom 16.-21.04.2012 in Panama City hat die internationale Gemeinschaft am 20.04.2012 beschlossen, dass das UN-Sekretariat des neuen internationalen Wissenschaftlergremiums für Biodiversität (IPBES - Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) in Bonn angesiedelt wird.

Neu an GBIF angebunden: Spinnensammlung des Staatlichen Museums für Naturkunde Karlsruhe

Das Staatliche Museum für Naturkunde Karlsruhe (SMNK) besitzt eine wertvolle Alkoholsammlung von Spinnen (Araneae), konserviert und aufbewahrt in rund 8.600 Glasviolen. Ab sofort sind die Daten zur Teilsammlung Deutschland (4.600 Glasviolen, 600 Spinnenarten) über GBIF verfügbar.

Beginn des Treffens europäischer GBIF-Knoten - Gastgeber ist Deutschland

Die diesjährige Veranstaltung wird von den GBIF-D Teams in Berlin organisiert und findet vom 27. bis 29. März 2012 am Botanischen Garten und Botanischen Museum Berlin-Dahlem (BGBM) und im Museum für Naturkunde (MfN) statt.
