gonopod preparation of the millipede (Myriapoda: Diplopoda) Polydesmus phantasma, Verhoeff 1925 (about 1 mm);

micropreparation of the mite (Acari) Spinturnix araguensis Vitzthum, 1931 (about 1.2 mm).

The node "Evertebrata II" has undertaken mainly the task of recording primary types (holotypes, syntypes, lectotypes) of Chelicerata, Myriapoda and Mollusca, housed in German natural history museums, which are the fundamentals of species identification and biodiversity business. German museums house several important historical collections of early scientist, sometimes distributed over many museums. Databases collect information about species group taxa, their author, original description and type locality including their geo-reference by coordinates. Characters for identification, digital images of the corresponding type specimen and labels and other data of the complex of global biodiversity complete the data. These essential informations for every taxonomic treatment of the correspoding group are made available to a global audience via the internet.
